My Story

Well how did I end up here? Well first you may want to understand a little about me. I have 135 college credit hours. My major in college was accounting. Yup I said accounting. I can count money with the best of them. I can figure figures like a true “Bob Crachette”. The problem is I hate accounting. The 3 “real jobs” I have had in accounting have been:

1. a regional bank – mortgage bookkeeper
2. a venture capital – full charge bookkeeper
3. a very large government contractor – project bookkeeper

I hated them ALL!

News flash – Doing school accounting is cool
Doing real world accounting is crap

I then got out of the accounting pit and got a position in sales in the computer industry. That was pretty good. But a good high-end sale position is very demanding. Plus it did not help that I was a energy salesman for Enron. I did make a bunch of money and opened retail stores as a fall back. I was bitten bad by the entrepreneurial bug. With 28 employees 3 stores and a very loyal clientele you would think things were OK.

But I had no life. Retail demands ALL of your time. So I bailed because of the strain on my marriage. Soon after Enron went bankrupt. So I had no income, the folks I leased the stores from wanted all 5 years payment and all I had was a bunch of store inventory an a ecommerce web site I had built as a hobby. With-in 5 months I went from being at the top of my game to being un-employed all non void”

I developed a web development company that helped me to keep some income coming end. But I was not only “Robbing Peter to pay Paul” but I was beating and pimping both “Peter and Paul”. You can only juggle for so long. Eventually the house of card came crashing down and I filed bankrupt.

That was 2 years ago. In that time I have continued to try and rebuild both my family and finical world while building a service business income.
